Split Apple Rock
Split Apple Rock is a geological rock formation in Tasman Bay off the northern coast of the South Island. Made of granite, it is in the shape of an apple which has been cut in half. This popular site makes for stunning frames by photographers. Local operators offer kayaking as a means to visit the location however a short 15 minute walk will also get you there. The pristine beaches and clear waters also offer a small cave system towards the left hand side of the beach while looking out towards the surf.
